I've been enjoying Abel & Cole deliveries for over 6 months now. Their produce is organic, seasonal, not air-freighted, fresh, diverse, tailored to your tastes, affordable and delivered free to your door.
Last week's strawberries were so sweet they gave the fruit a whole new meaning for me. They were ripe, red and so sweet it was as if they'd been marinated in sugar. Simply gorgeous.
Tonight, I tucked into a juicy, melt-in-the-mouth, hedgehog-cut mango. And I thought I don't like mangos.
(Perhaps they were in fact the Jerusalem Artichokes or something? I'm new to all this.)
I go for a small mixed box, for just under a tenner, once a fortnight. This week's delivery included Pac Choi - just in time for the Chinese meal I'm having when most of the family come around on Saturday for lunch.

It's funny that you should bring up the subject of foodstuffs. Just yesterday, quite against my usual routine, I decided to have a scotch egg. I walked to a local supermarket (Waitrose, I know it costs a little more but I genuinely think that brand named products taste better from Waitrose - especially anything made by Heinz!). After about 15 minutes of aimless wandering I was able to identify the aisle which played host to the 'meat snacks'. If ever you find yourself in need of a pork pie or sausage roll, I'll save you time by telling you that they are together with the scotch eggs in the chilled section of aisle 4 - on the left, opposite the muller 'Fruit Corners'. I decided to go for an own brand scotch egg as it was almost 7p cheaper than its nearest rival (made by a company called Ginsters). I took it to the checkout, paid my 42p and wolfed it down before I'd even left the shop.
I'm delighted to report that this whole incident left me with absolutely no ill effect - save for a thin film of animal fat across my soft-palette and a fine layer of orange crumbs upon the upper-front portion of my torso.
I'm glad that I've found someone else on the inter-web who eats food... sometimes I feel so out of place and alone. But it's true what they say, whatever you are into, there's always someone else out there doing it too. Keep it up - I feel sure we shall become friends.
