How beautiful: OAS!S India has just started a new project in the red light district of Mumbai (Bombay) with a week of 24-7 prayer. It features now on the 24-7 prayer website. John Nonhebel, director of OAS!S India, writes: 'The room literally looks out over buildings which are just full of brothels with hundreds of girls trapped in prostitution - a truly great place for a prayer room....'
From May 1st to June 10th, OAS!S is also doing forty days of global, non-stop, creative prayer. It's called 40 Days Around The World, and OAS!S Bangladesh, India, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Continental Europe, UK, USA and Brazil are all taking part in this massive prayer fest.
Today I figured that 40 days x 24 hours = just under 1000 hours of prayer. With around 1000 OAS!S people - staff, volunteers, church members, trustees and so on - each praying for just one hour, and a worldwide network of prayer rooms open for the full 40 days, I'm sure we'll hit the target, and more. And we'll encounter God, which is the main thing. It will be amazing, I know. I'll keep you posted.
